Alien romance books are super popular these days. Have you tried one yet? Often steamy in very creative ways, they offer a different spin, blending sci-fi, fantasy, and a romantic HEA. Today, I welcome Kayelle Allen back to the blog to share her latest release, Surrender Love, an Immortal Alpha MM Romance.
An immortal alpha male. An illegal, near-blind rock musician. And twelve thousand years of lies…
Luc is the most powerful man in an intergalactic empire of 22 planets—but he’s alone, life after life.
Izzorah survives by hiding both his illegal status and his blindness for fear of banishment.
Only Luc’s immortal blood can heal Izzorah’s sight—and only Izzorah’s love can heal Luc’s heart.
Luc might risk violating the highest law among the immortals by sharing his blood, but it means revealing the truth of what he is, and that means baring every damning secret, every twisted truth, and twelve thousand years’ worth of dirty hidden lies.
With no guarantee their love can survive that kind of truth…
Surrender Love, a steamy sweet MM Sci-Fi romance featuring instant attraction between a hot immortal and a feisty rocker with a galaxy full of secrets between them. Book 1 in the explosive Antonello Brothers: Immortal Science Fiction series. Other books in the series are available on pre-order.

Excerpt:
In this scene, Izzorah goes to Luc’s office to thank him personally for sending flowers to his hospital room while Izzorah had been recovering. The moment seems to lend itself to a kiss, and the catlike alien, Izzorah, is waiting.
With an indulgent smile, Luc bent closer to capture Izzorah’s gaze. “Tell me what you want, Izzorah. Be certain before you answer.”
Both ears forward, slashed pupils widening, Izzorah let his gaze linger on Luc’s eyes. He lowered it to the mouth and returned to the eyes. “You. What I want is you.”
Well. Luc allowed himself a smile. That was plain enough. He stroked the backs of his fingers down Izzorah’s cheek and cupped a hand beneath his chin, tilting it up. Taking his time, he bent toward Izzorah.
The Kin parted his lips and closed his eyes, yielding. The image of Izzorah offering himself in such a sweet way burned itself into Luc’s memory. After brushing a thumb across the fleshy part of Izzorah’s lower lip, Luc released him and drew back.
Izzorah’s ears went back, his eyes huge. “Did I do something wrong?”
“No, you did everything right.” He caressed Izzorah’s cheek. “If you want me, then you shall have what you desire.”
“Then why didn’t you kiss me?” A bright blush followed those words and Izzorah lowered his ears. “Is it…because of my fangs?” He placed his fingers before his mouth. “I won’t bite. I know they say Kin lose control and bite, but I can control myself.”
He chuckled. “Can you? I hope not.”
Nice!

Meet the author:
Kayelle Allen writes Sci Fi with misbehaving robots, mythic heroes, role-playing immortal gamers, and warriors who purr. She is the author of multiple books, novellas, and short stories. She’s also a US Navy veteran and has been married so long she’s tenured.
Tell us about your inspiration for this story.
I had written a trilogy prior to this in which Luc and his romantic partner broke up and readers wanted to know if Luc would finally find a forever love. I wrote Surrender Love as the answer to that, and the sequel, Forever Love, is out May 13, 2021.
What do you love about the genre you write in?
I love the freedom of creating a new world and peopling it with unique characters. I even defined a lexicon full of words for the catlike aliens in my series, the Kin. Subscribers to my newsletter have exclusive access to download the almost 40 page lexicon.
Tell us about your journey from aspiring writer to published author.
I joined an online critique group and started submitting. One of the authors there was a published science fiction romance author, and she took me under her wing. Barbara Karmazin died just a few years later, but during the time we had as mentor and mentee, she taught me a great deal about the industry, including how important it is to reach out and help others when I was able. Barbara introduced me to her publisher and told me to submit my first three chapters. I had a contract right away and eventually published five books with them before they went out of business. I have since re-released everything as an independent author.
What’s your favorite part of the writing life?
Hearing questions or comments from readers. I get emails every week, and I answer every single one of them. How do I have time? Writing stories that people can dig into and want to talk about is the reason I write. I will always have time to talk to readers.
Do you have any particular writing quirks? A special object, snack, music, etc. that helps you with your writing process?
When I write, I wear a fingerless glove on my right hand because I mouse so much the heel of my hand gets tender from brushing the mousepad. I have several styles and colors, and they do a great job of protecting my skin.
Any advice for aspiring writers?
Two things. 1) Never give up your dream, and don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do it. Yes, you can. 2) Google David Gaughran and follow his advice. He doesn’t try to make money off his students (he gives you everything free) and he will tell you the absolute truth about marketing your books.

This was a fun interview. Thank you for the comment about the steamy alien romance. Izzorah has small fangs, big eyes, and a big heart. Luc’s character arc is supported by Izzorah’s unconditional love. There are two other books in this series that are already on pre-order, and Surrender Love has a link to a free short story at the end, for those who want a little more time with Luc and his new love.
